MANAGERS MATCH DAY CHECK LIST

The following equipment will be required for all teams for away
matches;
- Six (6) hit shields
- Six (6) correctly inflated rugby balls, including a carry bag
- Eskies, ice, sterilized water bottles and carry packs, bulk water containers and small plastic bags to make up ice packs
- Walkie –Talkie communication system (check operation and ensure back up batteries are available)
- Spare boot studs and spanner for emergency repairs
- Blankets for reserves on cold days
- Towels for player use on hot days
- Massage tables
- Playing kit and carry bag, spare jerseys, shorts, socks and kicking tees
N.B. Managers should liaise with each other and PHYSIO, at training on Thursday nights regarding the transport of gear to away match venues. Jerseys should be checked each Thursday night by managers, to ensure all are accounted for and are in good playing condition. Shorts in all sizes (at least four pairs for each size) should form part of the playing kit.
MEDICAL:
Club Physio/strapper will be responsible for checking the medical and strapping requirements each Tuesday night and for placing orders with the appropriate person. He/she will also be responsible for packing the medical kits each Thursday night for each of the three teams and for their transport to away venues.
The medical kits should include as a minimum, strapping tape, leg tape, rubber gloves, bandages, band aids, betadine, swabs, plastic bags for ice packs, insulation tape for line out jumpers, Scissors, Vaseline, rubbing oil etc.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
A Jordan or Scoop Frame and two (2) cervical collars, are to be positioned on the touch line near half way, prior to the commencement of any trial or competition matches. A medically trained person must also be in attendance prior to kick off and for the duration of the match. Home venues are responsible for meeting these requirements.
ADMINISTRATION:
Team Managers should be additionally issued with a comprehensive Manual which outlines their duties and provides guidance (see attached). Team sheets are to be accurately and legibly completed for all competition matches, in accordance with the competition rules and be handed to the Rugby Director upon the completion of each match, so that match results can be conveyed to the RGC results coordinator for distribution to media outlets.
PLAYER VALUABLES:
A drawer-string bag will be issued to managers for securing player valuables (keys, wallets, watches etc) during matches. Managers should ensure player clothing and gear bags are securely stored during matches.
PLAYING KIT:
The playing kit comprises 22 jerseys, packed in a carry bag and sequentially numbered 1-22. Managers should ensure that extra un-numbered (blank) jerseys are carried to cover situations of jerseys becoming blood soiled or torn during matches. Spare socks and shorts (at least four pairs of shorts in each size) should be carried to cover damage occurring during matches.
Managers are to recover all playing kit (including torn jerseys and shorts) from players at the completion of each match, so they can be
Laundered and /or repaired for the next match.
