Development Officer Job Description

Purpose of Position:

 

Promote and develop rugby in schools, clubs and other community settings through the creation and maintenance of effective relationships and high quality delivery of rugby programs and tailored support programs to key stakeholders.

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

  1. High quality delivery of rugby based programs and tailored support programs to schools, clubs and volunteers.
  2. Promote rugby as a safe, enjoyable, inclusive team based game with children, parents, schools, clubs and the general community
  3. Create sustainable links between clubs and schools through the implementation and monitoring of Community Rugby development programs.
  4. Provide high quality coach identification, education and assessment processes for the region
  5. Administer school competitions, club and school coach databases, program evaluation and regional rugby resources (eg. Grant funding)
  6. Support clubs in your region to improve the administration and promotion of rugby through the provision of effective program planning and implementation processes.
  7. Develop networks with key stakeholders in your region to promote and develop awareness of rugby in the community.

Selection Criteria

 

  1. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
  2. Well developed skills in program delivery, evaluation and reporting.
  3. Knowledge of effective group management techniques and experience implementing such techniques.
  4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively promote events.
  5. Well developed resource and event planning skills and the ability to work within budget allocations.
