Policy All junior competitions played within Australia are recommended to observe a Two Year Window where no player should participate in a game more than two years above his or her chronological age.
 
For example, a player participating in an Under 12 competition should be turning 11 or 12 years of age during the calendar year.

Rationale
The Two Year Window generally aims to allow players to participate in
a game with those of an adequate skill and maturation level thus
providing a safe playing environment.
